This place just showed up on Yelp searches so I stopped by. I chatted up some guys who came in and the said the place is in fact new and they had good food.
This is take out only by the way. The place has a small window to order in a space the size of a hallway and looks slapped together. The menu board is papers taped to un pealed plexiglass wall.
You pick your protein and two sides that comes with a biscuits and rice and gravy. I chose the smothered chicken with mash/gravy and dressing as my meal.
When I got home and opened the box I saw pork chops and not the chicken ordered WTF. The pork chops are battered and super thin but tasted good but nothing exciting. The pork chops have bones in them by the way. The mash/gravy was a little loose. The dressing was corn bread and had the texture of grits through out. The rice with gravy was ok. The biscuit was was crisp on the outside and on the sweet side. The pork chops and the biscuit were my favorite of the plate.
Overall after the screw up I must say everything was good but nothing great or spectacular. I would like to actually get the chicken and a couple of different sides for a better idea of the food. The picture on the wall looks better than what I had. It was a nice comfort food kind of a meal and that appeals to me so I would try them again.
The stars I gave are biased only on the food and the order mix up is not factored in my rating because the are new so they will get some slack cut. I try to be fair and honest in my reviews and only take stars away when really deserving of stars being removed. -

The food was delicious and fresh! I was very pleased with the hospitality. I plan to go back while I'm in town.

I don't know why this place doesn't have at least a 4.5 out of 5 stars, given that you can't always please everyone. I will try my best to keep this brief and be as thorough as possible. My family and I ordered a combination of smothered pork chops, smothered chicken, and fried catfish. We also got dressing, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, yams, and the included rice and gravy; pretty much everything is delicious!!! The banana pudding is to die for and I look forward to trying their other dessert options. All of the food, with the exception of the dressing, was great. As another Yelper mentioned, the dressing was a bit grainy and not to my liking, but it's just something we won't order again. The customer service was excellent and everyone was so friendly. We tried to go back, but due to them being closed on Mondays, we couldn't and we won't be able to before we leave town. All in all, we will definitely be back every time we return to Milwaukee!!!

Horrible service. Walked up at 1 o'clock to a sign on the door that stated they were closed UNTIL 1pm. Customer happened to see me standing outside at about 1:03. Stood at the window until 1:09. Finally owner comes and laughs in my face and tells me he's closed. I said it's after 1pm. He walked off. I took my dollars up the street to Stella J's smiling face. Never going back.
